COPENHELL CON – A GEEK CONVENTION IN THE DARK HEART OF COPENHELL

With 35,000 visitors in 2024, COPENHELL Con has been one of the greatest COPENHELL attractions since its inception in 2022. There is a great overlap between enthusiasm for rock and metal on onside and everything geeky on the other – from science fiction and superheroes to retro horror movies and comic books.

In the last three years, COPENHELL Con has given the audience the chance to take a break from the wild festival site, step into more relaxed surroundings and get a unique chance to experience a meeting between the music and geek universes at the festival. Through the years, guests have got the chance to meet famous comic book artists, play classic arcade games, try virtual reality experiences, recharge their batteries with board games, explore interesting stores and stalls as well as experience exciting stage shows in the Con hall.

Music artists visiting COPENHELL have also discovered COPENHELL Con, and they love visiting our geek universe. World-famous names like Corey Taylor, Scott Ian, Kerry King, Robb Flynn, Myrkur and SKYND have visited the Con stage to talk about their geeky side. The stage has also given the audience great experiences with Danish entertainment profiles like Lars Mikkelsen, Peter Madsen and Jakob Stegelmann.

We look forward to opening the doors to COPENHELL Con again in 2025 and bid all festival guests welcome – whether they are geeks or not! One of our cardinal thoughts is that COPENHELL Con is for everyone: Both those who just want to have a look inside and dip their toes and those who want to dive all the way to the bottom in all the fascinating geek universes here and engage in the community. In here, enthusiasm and curiosity are the driving forces, and we can’t wait to give the audience a lot of new and exciting experiences.

You can see stage shows and their dates/times in the program in COPENHELL’s app and on this site. Please find a list of COPENHELL Con's activities below:

360° Hexperience

Experience the award-winning virtual reality concert with the band Belzebubs, created by Finnish illustrator and author JP Ahonen. No booking required: Just show up, grab a VR headset and get ready to have your face melted by 17 minutes of wild black metal from the front row!

Bastard Café

The board game gurus will once again take over the area on the first floor of the COPENHELL Con hall, where everyone is invited to stop by and exercise their brains. Whether it’s for a quick round of dice or hours of heavy strategy, you’re welcome to join!

Bip Bip Bar

Nørrebro’s retro oasis returns with awesome arcade machines and real nerd-room coziness. Come challenge a friend shoulder to shoulder and enjoy a blast from the past with thrilling entertainment.

Midgaard Escape Room

The perfect festival experience for those who like a challenge: In collaboration with Midgaard Event, we present an escape room right at COPENHELL Con – stop by early in the day to sign up for a timeslot, and return later to see if you can escape.

Sminkehjørnet

If you left home without proper face paint and feel the urge to spice up your festival look, we recommend checking out Sminkehjørnet (the makeup corner) where you can quickly get amazing face makeup done.

Metal & Thread

Not all bands sell T-shirts that fit the female body. That’s why Metal & Thread will host daily workshops from 13:00 to 15:00 on each festival day where you can come and reshape your T-shirt into a more feminine fit – and get great advice along the way. You can also sew on newly bought patches, fix holes or just enjoy some cozy metal vibes.
Sewing machines and assistance are available throughout COPENHELL Con’s opening hours from 12:00 to 22:00 every day, and other creative workshops are also offered on each festival day:

  • 16:00–18:00 – Sew your own tote bag from recycled fabric
  • 19:00–21:00 – Learn how to knot macramé wall hangings the metal way

Dark Market

The Dark Market is an underground lifestyle market with over 20 years of history. Here you’ll find a range of stalls with alternative clothing, jewelry, literature, art and design, gear for board and role-playing games and much more from the dark subculture corners. In collaboration with COPENHELL Con, the market has grown and evolved into a unique, shadowy corner of COPENHELL where guests can hang out, enjoy immersive experiences – and bring something special home for the crypt, the kind of stuff you won’t find in regular stores.

Drager & Dæmoner
In addition to their big stores full of the hottest new manga, comics, merchandise, board games, role-playing games, and more, Faraos Cigarer will also host a daily RPG session at COPENHELL Con! The game is Drager & Dæmoner, and everyone is welcome (though space is limited). Drop by if you’re curious to try role-playing games, whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a complete newcomer.
